Utilizing materials from the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network as well as original materials, we provide a unique blend of food allergy basics plus practical tips for successful management of food allergies in any situation. We provide important information about Anaphylaxis, how to recognize the symptoms and how to treat the reactions with the help of Board Certified Allergist. Real life stories are shared by a parent who has lived with food allergies for 13+ years and who has worked to educate other parents and schools over the years. These experiences provide insights into the real world of food allergies that only a parent can offer.

Presenter Denise Lewis has been a volunteer with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America for 15 years and is the Founder of Food Allergy Connection.  She has a teenage son who has life-threatening allergies to peanuts, nuts and shellfish and has been working with schools and parents as a food allergy educator since 1995. Denise feels strongly about educating others about food allergies and is committed to helping find ways to keep all food allergic children safe, whether they are at home or in someone else’s care.  Educating parents, schools and day care centers is essential since severe food allergies are on the rise in children.  Keeping children safe is a top priority for parents and educators alike, and education is the key to successful management of food allergies.
