Food Allergy & Family Stress

I am a doctoral student working at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I am currently working on my dissertation, which focuses on the impact that having a food allergic child may have on parent stress and worry, and parenting.

We are studying the effects that a child’s food allergy may have on the family.

We need mothers of food allergic 6- to 13-year old children. Children will also be asked to participate if they are 9 years of age or older.

Study tasks include surveys, which can either be completed online or mailed to you.

You can earn a $20 gift card to a natural food market.

I'm a high school student in Connecticut, and I'm doing a research project for a regional science fair which looks for a possible link between peanut allergies and immunizations.

If you have a child between the ages of 6 months and 16 years with a peanut allergy, could you please help me by filling out this survey?

 Thanks!

Peanut Allergy Impact on Perceived Parental Characteristics

Conducted through the Human Services Psychology Program, Pediatric Psychology Lab at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Baltimore, MD

All participants will be entered into a drawing to win their choice of either an Ipod or Nintendo DS-Lite.

The purpose of this research study is to collect information on how young adults with peanut allergy perceive the way their parent(s) raised them.

This study also aims to determine how these characteristics may relate to other aspects of daily life.

If you're 18 years or older and have wheat allergy,
or if you are the parent of a child with wheat allergy,

Undeclared / Hidden Wheat Exposure Survey

The Purpose of This Survey - Note from the author of this survey:
I am working towards getting my Master's Degree in Nutrition at San Jose State University and I am doing this survey as my graduate project.

I have a wheat allergy and am constantly being unknowingly exposed to wheat because it is such a major food component in our society. Even after discussing my allergy with restaurant staff or a foodservice worker, I still find myself being exposed to undeclared or hidden wheat because there is minimal training provided to those working in the foodservice industry about handling food allergens.

My goal in doing this survey is to examine just how widespread the exposure to hidden or undeclared wheat is, and to use this information to educate the foodservice industry on how to become more aware of food allergens and food allergy safety. Please read the Informed Consent before you begin the survey.

If you're 18 years or older and have food allergies,
